Let’s fast forward to the present and the second generation 2017 Panamera. Compared to its predecessor, this car is a vast improvement. The new Panamera features completely redesigned headlamps, grill and air scoops that allow for a sharper front-end. The rear-end is also completely redesigned with slender full-width tail lamps. Overall, the new Panamera is 198.8 inches long (1.3 inches longer), 76.3 inches wide (0.2 inches wider) and 56 inches high (0.2 inches higher). Shall we say bigger and better?

Let’s talk speed. Hold on to your seats because this baby is fast. That’s if you get the Panamera Turbo embodied with a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine. This beast is capable of jumping into hyper drive with a top speed of 550hp and 770 Nm of torque. If you really want to push the envelope, get the Panamera Turbo S. This baby has commands a whopping 600 hp. With those stats, you can boost that you own “the fastest luxury sedan on Earth”.
For those of you who don’t want to fly, the 2017 Panamera also comes in a Panamera 4S model. The Panamera 4S is powered by a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine good for 440 hp and 550 Nm of torque. That’s 160 hp less than the Panamera Turbo S but who cares.
Diesel lover? Then the Panamera 4S Diesel is the one for you. This model has a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 diesel engine developing 422 hp and 850 Nm of torque. Every model has an all-wheel drive drivetrain layout and a redesigned 8-speed Porsche dual-clutch transmission (PDK) as standard. The Panamera 4S Diesel is considered to be the fastest Diesel sedan in the world. Too bad Porsche has no plans on selling these in the United States.
To the victor goes the spoils or the spoiler. The 2017 Panamera Turbo S and Turbo models both feature a newly design spoiler that splits and expands to cover the rear when activated. This uniquely designed “Turbo Wing” is only available in the 2017 Panamera Turbo and Turbo S models.
