5.5” LG G3 Stylus to Make Its Debut at IFA 2014, Will Feature Budget Specs/Pricing

The LG G3 has made quite a splash on the market, and has helped LG rack up record sales of 14.5 million smartphones for Q2. The flagship device carries with it a QHD (2560×1440) display, Snapdragon 801 processor, and a healthy 3GB of RAM.

LG is looking to follow-up that success with the new G3 Stylus. We first heard of this new smartphone via a promo video that was posted by LG earlier this month, however, those looking for a specs monster will be disappointed.

The G3 Stylus features a 5.5” qHD (960×540) display (which of course accepts handwriting, sketching, etc. via its included stylus), 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and a microSD slot. Photography duties are handled by a 13MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front-facing camera.

Perhaps biggest omission – from a U.S. market perspective — is that the G3 Stylus doesn’t even support LTE networks, which is a big omission compared to comparable devices like the Galaxy Note III (which after nearly a year on the market would likely be price comparable to the G3 Stylus while offering superior specs). However, considering the countries that the G3 Stylus will first launch in – Brazil, Russia, the Middle East, parts of Asia, and Africa – this probably won’t be much of an issue.

LG hasn’t yet announced U.S. availability or pricing, but did note that the G3 Stylus will be offered at an “exceptional price that can’t be beat.”
