Acer has launched a new Windows 8.1 tablet with an optional removable keyboard called the Iconia W4. The eight-inch (1280×800) screen features IPS technology and Zero Air Gap technology to provide enhanced clarity, brightness, and sharpness.
The Iconia W4 tablet uses a fourth-generation Intel Atom processor running at 1.8GHz and promises a battery life of up to 10 hours for web browsing and up to eight hours for video playback. The tablet also has a two-megapixel front camera and a five-megapixel rear camera.
The Iconia W4 is available with 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage and both versions have a microSD card slot for expansion. The tablet weighs 415 g and is 0.14-inches thick.
The tablet is preloaded with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 at no cost. The tablet also has an optional slim and portable keyboard for users needing to type more quickly than they can with an on-screen keyboard only.
The W4 tablet will ship this month in the U.S. with the 32 GB version selling for $329.99 and the 64 GB version selling for $379.99. The keyboard accessory price is unknown at this time.
