Amazon is looking to produce six new pilots for original comedies, and it wants help from customers in deciding which ones to make into full series’.
Amazon Studios will make each of the six pilots and show them to customers for free. Customers then offer feedback to Amazon on which ones to produce.
“Since launching our original series development effort, we have received more than 2,000 series ideas from creators around the world with all different backgrounds, and we are extremely excited to begin production on our very first set of pilots,” said Roy Price, Director of Amazon Studios. “The six comedy pilots will begin production shortly, and once they are complete, we plan to post the pilots on Amazon Instant Video for feedback. We want Amazon customers to help us decide which original series we should produce.”

Back in May 2012, Amazon Studios announced that it was looking for writers, animators, producers, etc. to create original comedy and children’s series ideas for Amazon Instant Video. It encouraged potential show creators to submit their material in the form of a five-page description, and offered either $10,000 45 days after submission or to have the creator add his/her project to the Amazon Studios website.
Only Amazon Prime customers can watch the six new original comedy pilots for free.
