Amazon Echo devices can now manage music playback across multiple rooms. The company announced that Echo users can now synchronize music across several devices in their home. In the future, this feature will broaden to control for multi-room music on other connected speakers.
As of now, the Echo devices which includes the Dot, Echo Show, and regular Echo can only manage music requests from Amazon Music, TuneIn, iHeartRadio, and Pandora, but support for Spotify and SiriusXM will be coming soon.
Amazon also says that they will be launching new developer tools for speaker makers who want to make their devices compatible with the multi-room playback. Alexa Voice Service (AVS) Multi-Room Music SDK allows device makers to unify with Amazon Alexa Multi-Room Music. This tool will be available later this year.
